Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 10, 2026
upNEXTly ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
1. Information We Collect
Account data: When you sign up, we collect email, password (hashed), and optionally profile information such as username, display name, account type (creator or business), and profile picture. We may use third-party authentication (e.g. OAuth) for sign-in; in that case we receive identifiers from the provider.
Board and content: Data you add to your board (ideas, updates, links, board name and settings) is stored and displayed according to your preferences and our service design.
Subscribers: When a visitor subscribes to a board, we store the email address and associate it with that board. Board owners can export subscriber emails from their dashboard. We do not use subscriber emails for our own marketing unless we have separate consent.
Usage and technical data: We may collect IP address, browser type, device information, and log data (e.g. requests, errors) to operate the service, prevent abuse, and improve the product.
IP address and browser fingerprint (for voting and abuse prevention): When you vote on a board, subscribe to notifications, or use reactions without logging in, we use your IP address and a browser fingerprint to prevent abuse and to limit one vote (or one subscription) per person. We do not store your raw IP address or raw fingerprint. We only store cryptographically hashed values (using secret salts), so we cannot look up or identify you from these hashes—we use them only to enforce fairness (e.g. one vote per device) and rate limits. This helps keep voting and boards trustworthy while respecting your privacy.
2. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your information only where we have a valid reason under applicable law: to perform our contract with you (e.g. providing the service you signed up for); where we have a legitimate interest that is not overridden by your rights (e.g. securing the platform, preventing abuse, improving the product); where you have given consent for a specific use; or where we must process data to meet a legal obligation. We do not keep your information longer than needed for these purposes.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information to provide, secure, and improve the Platform; to communicate with you about your account or the service; to enforce our Terms; and to comply with law. We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their marketing. We may use service providers (e.g. hosting, database, email) who process data on our behalf under agreements that protect your data.
4. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies only for purposes that are essential or functional: session management, authentication, saving your preferences, and security. We do not use cookies for advertising or to track you across third-party sites for marketing. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings; disabling some may limit how the site works.
4. Sharing and Disclosure
We may share data: (a) with your consent; (b) with service providers who assist us under confidentiality obligations; (c) to comply with law or legal process; (d) to protect our rights, safety, or property; (e) in connection with a merger or sale of assets. Content you make public (e.g. public boards) is visible to anyone with the link.
6. Data Retention
We retain account and board data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. After account deletion, we may retain certain data for backup, legal, or security purposes for a limited period. Subscriber emails are retained as long as the board owner keeps the list or until the subscriber or board owner requests removal.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data (e.g. encryption, access controls). No system is completely secure; you provide information at your own risk.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, or to object to or restrict processing. To exercise these, contact us. You can update profile and board settings in your dashboard. If you are in the EEA/UK, you may have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
8. Children
The Platform is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe we have collected such data, please contact us so we can delete it.
11. Business Transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. The recipient will be expected to use your information in line with this Privacy Policy. We will tell you if your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
12. Third-Party Links
Our site or boards may link to websites or services we do not operate. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. We recommend reading their privacy policies before you provide any information.
13. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and, where the law requires it, we will notify you. Your continued use of the service after changes will be treated as acceptance of the updated policy.
14. Contact
For privacy-related requests, to exercise your rights, or if you have questions about this policy, please contact us using the contact details provided on our website or in the app.
